Hi,
Welcome to the construction page for Mini Seaperch
I wrote this page to document the construction of what I feel is an awesome
design for a homebuilt ROV. I can't take credit for the design, or even the
idea, read below for info on that part...
So, if you want to build something like Mini Seaperch, read on.

- Buy the Book!
- Buy the Parts
- Trim off the Nibs
- Dry Fit
- Glue it Up
- Setup the Motors
- Install the Motors
Step 1: (Buy the Book)
- There has ben an excellent book written by a couple of folks who work on
the mainland. Their names are Harry Bohn and Vickie Jensen. If you're
planning on building anything that will live under the water, get their book
titled "Build Your Own Underwater Robot".
Step 2: (Buy the Parts)
- Well, this part isn't terribly complicated. A quick trip to the local
Home Depot turned up some bulk tubing, and some drip irrigation T's and L's.
Step 3: (Trim off the Nibs)
- The main prblem with the drip irrigation stuff is the little barbs or
nibs at the ends. For my first try, I left them in place, and everything
works just fine, but the little bumps were driving me nuts, so I decided that
trimming them off was the best thing to do.
Step 4: (Dry Fit)
- Start laying things out free-form.
- The tubing is very easy to cut, just watch your fingers. Using a razor
blade will cut deep before you realise it, don't ask how I know that :)
Step 5: (Glue it Up)
- This is pretty easy, just make sure you keep things lined up until the
glue completely sets, or you'll be doing it all again :(
Step 6: (Setup the Motors)
-
Step 7: (Install the Motors)
